The Austin Archery Club hosts a 3D Shoot each month,
typically on the 2nd weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays.
The event is open to both members and the general public.
This is a great atmosphere to score yourself and shoot a course that is only open once a month.
See our Events page for dates and times.
Monthly 3D Shoot FAQ
- What is the Weather Policy?
- Events are not typically reschedule for rain alone. If there are other factors – high winds, lightning, ice, flooding – then rescheduling or cancellation is more likely. SAFETY will be the number one priority.
If any changes are made to a scheduled event, a Facebook post will be made to our group page, and all members will receive an email notification.
If an event is rescheduled or cancelled prior to starting, and a participant has prepaid, it will be their preference whether to request a refund, or apply funds to a future event.
If an event has started and later cancelled prior to completion, refunds will not be offered to participants who started the event.
The facility is outdoors and located in Central Texas, and many events occur in late Winter and Spring, so weather will always be a factor. Typically, 1 event each year is postponed or cancelled because of weather, so expect the same in the future.
- Shotgun Start means that ALL shooters must be warmed up 15 minutes prior to the start time,
after which ALL shooters will be directed to their assigned starting target,
then ALL shooters will start promptly when the horn is blown at the published start time.
- California Start means that shooters all START on the same target number, in the order in which they arrive and are ready to shoot. All SCORECARDS must be turned in by a designated time to be counted, requiring shooters to plan their start time to ensure they have enough time to finish.
- Yes, in 2021 we introduced Monthly prizes and a Season Grand Prize. Click HERE for details.
- Binoculars are allowed for locating the scoring rings.
You may use a rangefinder, but you must note “Rangefinder” on your scorecard.
Shooters using rangefinders may compete for prizes. See PRIZES below for details.
- There are 30 targets. All use ASA style cores.
- You get 1 shot per target.
- For our Monthly 3D Shoots we DO NOT use the ASA top/bottom 12-rings or 14-ring,
but instead identify the center bullseye as our 12-ring.
Please see the example image below. (missing the target = 0)
