Welcome to The Austin Archery Club!
The Austin Archery Club (AAC) is a non-profit club open to archers of all ages and classes. Located northwest of Austin in the scenic Texas Hill Country, AAC has a membership dedicated to the sport. AAC has strong ties to the local archery community. The organization’s primary purpose is to promote the exciting sport of target archery, while offering an outdoor recreational opportunity for local archers.
Membership in AAC is open to anyone who wants to participate in the sport of archery. We accept members without regard to race, color, religion, sex, handicap, age, national origin or sexual orientation. In addition, we are a family-oriented organization that emphasizes archery as a sport for the entire family. All AAC paid memberships are family memberships, which include spouse and children under 18 years old.
The minimum membership length is 6 months – there are no hourly rates nor day passes available. Use of the club facilities includes all courses, ranges and targets, but requires members to bring their own bows and arrows – no equipment is available for sale or rent. Visitors are welcome during scheduled club events; see our Events page for dates and times.
***If you are looking for equipment sales or rentals, lessons or training, or for a day-use facility, please review the options provided on our Resources page.***
Although club facilities are located within Emma Long Park, the club is managed entirely by unpaid volunteers, and as such cannot support individual requests for onsite tours. Knowledgeable volunteers are available to answer questions in-person at all scheduled events. To help satisfy this frequent request, the club has created a virtual tour for those not yet familiar with the facility.
Facility Access
The facility is open to members every day of the year, unless closed for Events or external circumstances beyond the Club’s control. Signs and/or email notifications will inform members of these closures. The current status of the facility and courses/ranges is available on the Updates page.
All upright targets on all courses/ranges are available for members to use, unless closed for Events or special circumstances.
Courses/Ranges are shown on the Facility Map in front of the Clubhouse, and on the Location page.
Courses/Ranges are regularly open to members, unless signs mark them as Closed and/or email notifications have communicated them as such.
The Tournament Course is Closed at all times to everyone except during scheduled Events. Even if Tournament targets are found upright, they are not to shot at except during scheduled Events. This is a very important rule that must be followed for the safety of all members.
Member access to the club is restricted to daylight hours only: 30 minutes prior to sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset.
If you need to be at the club after hours, you must obtain a permit from Emma Long Park, at their gatehouse located farther down City Park Road.
NOTE – A Bluetooth capable smartphone is required for facility access.
See Gate Entry Instructions for additional details.
Club Rules
General Rules for the facility and specific rules for each of the ranges and courses are detailed HERE.
